About Physician Living
We help physicians align wealth and wellness—so medicine becomes one meaningful part of a well-lived life, not the whole story.
Our Mission
Physician Living exists to guide physicians through every stage of their Wealth & Wellness journey—from building financial foundations to designing a legacy that matters.
We know the realities of physician life: the intensity of training, the weight of student debt, the administrative burden, the identity wrapped up in your white coat. You've spent years learning to care for others. We're here to help you care for yourself—financially, emotionally, and practically.
Our mission is simple: give you clear, compassionate guidance to align wealth, work, and well-being—so you can enjoy more freedom, confidence, and a life you truly love in and outside of medicine.
How We're Different
Most physician finance platforms focus on technical investing tactics, side gigs as burnout Band-Aids, or early retirement as the only escape from medicine.
Physician Living takes a different approach:
We center alignment, not just accumulation. Money is a tool for freedom, health, and meaningful choices—not a scorecard. We help you use wealth to buy back time, reduce stress, and design work that fits your life.
We treat you as a whole human. Your clinical work, relationships, health, values, and money all matter. We explicitly connect financial moves to well-being, time, and energy—because a big portfolio means nothing if you're exhausted and disconnected from what matters most.
We use a clear, stage-based journey. Our Foundations → Growth → Balance → Lifestyle → Legacy framework creates clarity and reduces overwhelm. You'll always know where you are and what comes next.
We're calm and nonjudgmental. No shaming about past decisions. No pressure to hustle harder. We meet you where you are and move forward one step at a time.
We elevate physician voices. Our content is shaped with physician ambassadors and experts who have lived the experience—not just studied it from the outside.
The Physician Living Journey
We've organized everything around five stages that reflect the real arc of a physician's financial and professional life:
1. Foundations
How do I stop feeling behind and get on solid ground?
Build safety and stability: cash flow clarity, debt strategy, emergency funds, basic protections, and simple starting plans for investing and benefits.
2. Growth
How do I make my money work harder for me?
Grow and protect wealth through evidence-informed investing, strategic income use, tax efficiency, and thoughtful side income or career opportunities—without lifestyle creep that undermines freedom.
3. Balance
How do I make this career sustainable?
Reclaim time, energy, and emotional bandwidth. Set boundaries, reduce stress, navigate burnout, and align your work with your values and capacity.
4. Lifestyle
How do I build a life I actually enjoy—now?
Design day-to-day life to reflect your values and preferences: how you spend time, where you live, relationships you prioritize, and the intentional luxuries that bring you joy.
5. Legacy
What impact do I want my life and work to have?
Shape your long-term impact through estate planning, giving, multigenerational wealth, career legacy, and redefining what "doctorhood" means as you evolve.
Wherever you are in this journey, we'll help you take the next right step.
Our Story
Physician Living was co-founded by Thomas Raschka and Spencer Lee, who first launched the business as Finance For Physicians LLC.
Thomas, a seasoned mortgage loan originator, saw how poorly most financial systems understood the unique challenges physicians face—from unconventional income timelines to the complexity of physician mortgage options. Spencer, a serial entrepreneur, recognized the gap between generic financial advice and what doctors actually need to build lives that work.
As the brand evolved, Dr. Miyoung Won—an OB/GYN-turned-occupational medicine physician—joined as Executive Brand Ambassador. After more than sixteen years in clinical practice and her own journey through burnout and financial transformation, Dr. Won brought deep empathy and lived experience to the mission.
Inspired by the principles in Your Money or Your Life, she became a passionate advocate for aligning wealth with wellness and designing work on purpose. Together, the team reshaped Finance For Physicians into Physician Living—a supportive, expert-driven platform dedicated to:
- Giving physicians clearer options
- Translating complexity into calm, confident action
- Helping doctors create lives that feel as good on the inside as they look on paper
Meet Our Team

Thomsa Raschka
Co-Founder
With nearly two decades in finance, Tom has dedicated his career to helping families navigate complex financial decisions—especially physicians. As a mortgage specialist, he saw firsthand how traditional financial advice failed to account for the unique realities of physician life: delayed income, massive debt loads, and time scarcity. That frustration led him to co-found Physician Living, where he focuses on creating financial solutions that actually fit how doctors live and work. Fun fact: he's married to a physician, so he understands the dinner-table conversations about call schedules, burnout, and student loans better than most.

Spencer Lee
Co-Founder & Managing Editor
Spencer is a seasoned go-to-market strategist with over 20 years of experience helping companies grow by deeply understanding what their customers actually need. When he partnered with Tom to launch Physician Living, he brought that same curiosity: What do physicians really need to thrive—not just survive? The answer wasn't just better investing tips. It was a holistic approach that honors the whole person: wealth, wellness, time, relationships, and purpose. As Managing Editor, Spencer shapes the voice and vision of Physician Living's content, ensuring every resource we create serves physicians at every stage of their journey.

Dr. Miyoung Won, M.D.
Executive Brand Ambassador
Dr. Won spent nearly two decades as a board-certified OB/GYN before experiencing the burnout so many physicians know too well. Rather than leave medicine entirely, she redefined her path—transitioning into Occupational Medicine and reclaiming control over her time, energy, and purpose. That transformation taught her what's possible when you align your work with your well-being and your wealth with your values. Inspired by Die With Zero by Bill Perkins (her favorite audiobook), she's passionate about helping physicians design lives they don't need to retire from—where money, meaning, and medicine work together. As Physician Living's Executive Brand Ambassador, she brings lived experience, deep empathy, and a clear-eyed view of what it takes to thrive in and beyond clinical practice.
